Joliet Montessori School brings in this family festival filled with children’s entertainment from dancers to musicians, along with crafter's and vendors. A concert will feature “Tisa Plays” from the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago. Tisa Batchelder, musician, teacher illustrator and children’s author, fills the stage with whimsy and enthusiasm with her rockin’ little band. “Kids for Karen,” led by signer, songwriter and teacher Karen Banks-Lubicz, lends her energetic folk, rock style to harmonies enjoyed by the whole family. Free admission to the fair, tickets for the concert $10. Saturday 12:00 noon.

Friends of Community Public Art

The new Spring 2008 issue of the national Route 66 magazine features a cover story on the Public Art on
Route 66 in Joliet that was sponsored by the City of Joliet and created by artists with Friends of Community Public Art.

The five page article includes color images of murals, mosaics and sculptures along with a map and driving guide to see the 52 artworks in Joliet on Route 66.

"Get in the Game"
the Joliet Public Library celebrates games, sports, and the Olympics with the annual Summer Reading Club, "Get in the Game --- READ!" Pick up a packet with goodies and information starting June 1st, then drop by the library anytime between 9 am and 2 pm on June 5th to 7th to be a human playing piece in the world's largest library game! Activities continue through July, so drop by on June 1st to get started.
