Joliet Area Historical Museum
Lincoln : The Civil War and Will County On exhibit through June 21, 2009
This exhibit features Civil War President Abraham Lincoln and revisits Will County during the time of the Civil War. This exhibit is a collaborative effort by the JAHM, the Will County Historical Society, and local Lincoln and Civil War collectors.

Sweet Senior Tuesdays!
On June 2, July 7 and August 4, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, seniors (55+) are admitted free of charge. JAHM’s senior volunteer force will be present to welcome guests, offer tours of the exhibits, and answer questions. Visitors will be treated to free coffee, lemonade, and sweets. During Sweet Senior Tuesdays, seniors (55+) will receive a 10% discount in the Museum’s Gift Shop.

New display in the
Louis Joliet Mall
Friends of Community Public Art invites the public to visit its new display in the Louis Joliet Mall. FCPA has a Kiosk in the Macy's hall near the center of the mall and a multiple window display near Sears.
Work is progressing on the Joliet's Lincoln sculpture. It is to be installed in the fall in downtown Joliet.

Limited Openings for Kindergarten!!!
We have limited openings left for St. Joseph School’s Kindergarten class for the 2009-10 school year. We offer:
*Full Day Kindergarten 8:15 am - 3:00pm
*Early Literacy Program utilizing ‘SuperKids’ (rowlandreading.org)
*Computer class three times a week, Physical Education twice a week, and library time twice a week.
*Before/After School Program 7am- 5:30pm

There are still openings in First through Eighth grade. PreK spots for 3 and 4 year olds are available. Classes are 5 days per week with a choice of mornings or afternoons, and all students are welcomed into the before and after school program.

Sunday Picnics at the Park – Open to the Public!
At St. Joseph Park, Theodore and Raynor Street in Joliet
Sunday June 21, 2 pm – 9pm, St. Joseph School will be having its Annual Nailer Fund Picnic. There will be children’s games, bingo, bakery, food, cash bar and of course music. The proceeds from this picnic will be added to the school’s Nailer Family Fund for Working Families needing tuition assistance. For more information, please call 815-722-1005.
Saturday June 27, 12pm - 10pm & Sunday June 28, 12 - 10pm, St. Joseph Catholic Church will hold its Annual Homecoming Picnic. Classes of 1984, and 1959 will celebrate their class reunions. Saturday includes a spaghetti dinner, beanbag tournament, music bar and children’s games. Sunday we have a pork dinner, music bar, children’s games and bingo.
