On Saturday, February 13, a “Poker For Pets” Texas Hold’em Tournament Fundraiser will be held at The Department-Fine Dining & Martini Bar at 205 N. Chicago St. in Downtown Joliet.  The cats and dogs at the shelter have been dealt a bad hand in life, so go “all in” to help them.

Check in at 5 p.m., game runs from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.  $120 buy in.  Registration Deadline is Feb. 8.  Register early and get $20 off.  Half of the proceeds will go to the Will County Humane Society.   For additional information, visit willcountyhumane.org or email wchsfundraising@gmail.com.

Orange Crush “Winter Warm-Up”

JOLIET, IL- As Joliet temperatures continue to dip below freezing, the JackHammers would like to invite all fans to the Orange Crush’s “Winter Warm-Up.”  Attendees can plan for an exciting evening on the town with guest speakers like Chicago Cubs’ General Manager Jim Hendry and former JackHammers catcher Ryan Sienko.

The Orange Crush “Winter Warm-Up” is set for Monday, February 8 from 5:10 to 7:40 p.m. at The Department in downtown Joliet.  Fans attending the cocktail party will have the chance to mingle with current JackHammers Field Manager Chad Parker, Special Assistant to the General Manager John Cangelosi, and current JackHammers shortstop Kevin Rios, along with Hendry and Sienko. 

Tickets for the “Winter Warm-Up” are $35 and include appetizers and drinks, as well as a JackHammers Hat.

St. Joseph Catholic School will open its doors to the public during our annual Catholic Schools Week Open House.

In addition to a full academic program for students in grades K-8, the children also receive instruction in religion, PE, music, computer and science labs. They are offered the opportunity to take individual musical instrument lessons through Joliet Catholic Academy’s music program. The Kindergarten program is a full day program - five days a week. This allows the students to attend PE, computer, library, art and music classes. It also gives the teacher additional time for individual student instruction.
