Jackhammers announce promotional schedule

Joliet, IL – The Joliet JackHammers have officially announced their promotional schedule for the 2004 season. The centerpiece is the Northern League All-Star Skills Competition and All-Star Game presented by Budweiser at Silver Cross Field on July 19 and 20, respectively. The schedule is loaded with fun including giveaways, theme nights, guest entertainers and special events. The JackHammers open the 2004 96-game Northern League season at 7:05 PM on Thursday, May 20 versus the Gary (IN) SouthShore RailCats at Silver Cross Field in Joliet’s City Center.

The All-Star Skills Competition on July 19 will include a performance by the Jesse White Tumblers. The All-Star Game on July 20 will feature a performance by The Blues Brothers and a post-game fireworks display.

Every Monday home game is Pepsi Kids Club Night. Members of the club will enjoy complimentary General Admission to these games. Every Tuesday home game, The Herald News presents Jammer’s Book Buddies Reading Club Night which is the only night of the week kids can redeem their General Admission ticket voucher they earned reaching their school reading goal.

Adults (ages 21 and older) will enjoy Thirst-Quenching Thursdays. There will be beer specials at every Thursday home game. Every Friday home game is an All-American Friday with post-game fireworks. Also on All-American Fridays, the JackHammers will wear specially made red, white and blue jerseys which will be auctioned to the fans following the final Friday home game (Sept. 3). Each Sunday home game is a Bill Jacobs of Joliet Family Day. Fans can purchase a package of four tickets, four hot dogs, four souvenir cup Pepsi’s, two coupons for the speed pitch or the bounce house and one official scorecard for either $30 (General Admission), $38 (Reserved Seats) or $46 (Box Seats).

The JackHammers will feature the following giveaway items: magnet schedules, All-Star T-shirts, kids jersey T-shirts, hospital scrubs, souvenir baseballs, pennants, Jammer Christmas ornaments, baseball card sets, floppy hats, Frisbees, beer steins, team photos, TY® Beanie Boppers, baseball card posters and hats. The JackHammers four bobblehead doll giveaways include local Ron Coomer, Rich Hyde, Pete Rose, Jr. and Jeff Isom.

Guest entertainers include: the Zooperstars (twice), Reggy (twice), Jesse White Tumblers (twice), Myron Noodleman (twice), The Blues Brothers, Birdzerk, Little “E” and Anna Jack. Little “E” is an Elvis impersonator who stands 4’2”. Anna Jack is the hula hoop woman from The Late Show with David Letterman. JackHammers team mascots Jammer (presented by D’Arcy Motors) and Champ (a Yellow Labrador Retriever presented by Karges Realty) will be at every home game.

Theme nights include: That 70’s Night, Christmas in July, Negro League Tribute, Halloween in August, I love the 80’s and Fan Appreciation Day. Special events include: Joliet Area Hall of Fame Inductions, The Let’s Play Ball Tour, Joliet Junior College’s All-Time Top 25 Athletes, and Police & Firefighter Appreciation Day which includes a post-game Guns & Hoses Charity Softball Game.

The complete promotional schedule with dates, sponsors and game times is on the JackHammers website and available in a printable format. All JackHammers games will be heard on 1340-AM WJOL. Games, dates and promotions are subject to change. Additional promotions will be added between now and the baseball season. Promotional schedule updates will be identified in future e-mail newsletters (The JackHammer Journal) and the printable promotional schedule will have those updates. The gates of Silver Cross Field open one hour before game time.

Full season tickets, mini-plan ticket packages and group ticket packages are available for purchase. Individual game tickets will be available for purchase in April (details are coming soon). Regular season individual game tickets will remain $5 (General Admission), $7 (Reserved Seats) and $9 (Box Seats).
